Organizations that meet the basic qualifications of membership will be sent a formal application. The NGOC on UNICEF Global Forum reviews applications several times each year, and contacts applicants once reviews are complete. Membership dues are on an annual basis.

As per the NGO Committee on UNICEF Bylaws, basic qualifications are:

All members must demonstrate support and commitment for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The following may become members:

(a)   NGOs in consultative status or partnership with UNICEF, partnership includes formal or informal working relationship with UNICEF at any level.

(b)   NGOs in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council;

(c)   NGOs in consultative status with the United Nations Department of Public Information
